So I went for a ride in my housemate's car the other day. Man, thought I was messy.
Anyway, down around my feet amongst the various empty fag packets, drink containers, bits of wire and old sneakers, I saw a little OS X logo winking out at me. I looked closer and realised I was looking at a software box that quite clearly said "DISKWARRIOR" in an assertive way along its spine. Housemate being a PC guy, this seemed odd, so I enquired about the box.
Got it free from the "Free!" box at some op shop (US=thrift).
Gave it to me.

Includes a version for OS X, and v2.1 for 68020 or better, System 7.1 to OS 9.x

Nice!
DiskWarrior is one of the best things to get free, as it's (a) an essential utility; and ( B) pretty expensive.
