Weak Battery Related to: No Video?
Posted by: alvin777 on 2007-08-14 01:24:38
Hi. Can a weak battery be the cause of a Mac like an LC 575 to boot properly (power ON, ding, sound of hardisk loading) but have no video at all (even if you put the contrast on the bezel to full)? Has anyone experienced this kind of problem and fixed this with a fresh battery?

PRAM contents

LC 575 Tech. Spec.

no video

Stinting on battery replacement is false economy, especially when 'weak' batteries can inhibit startup of a Mac. LC 575 is one such.

In short, yes.

Go get yourself a new battery 🙂

This seems to be a problem with LC475's in my experience, as the two that I have both had dead PRAM batteries and no video when I got them. Replacements solved the problem right away. Since the 575 is basically the same machine, (except with an internal monitor), it is probably the same issue.

Sometimes low or dead PRAM batteries can cause colour tints on the monitors of AIO Macs as well, often green.
