Compatibility: Color Classic Logicboard to an LC 575?
Posted by: alvin777 on 2007-08-07 23:28:00
Hi. I have to ask this, as I'm trying to revive my LC 575. I know that you can use the logicboard of an LC 575 to a CC to form the Color Classic Mystic but is the CC's board compatible with a LC 575? I have to test if the 575's analog board or if its the logicboard which has the problem because with this 575, everything works (chime, HD loads, boots) except that it does not have video and I've tried raising up the screen control on its bezel.

You can put an LC575 mobo in a Colour Classic no problem, but i don't think ou can put a Colour Classic board into a 575.

I don't see why not, since it works the other way round...

Well, if the video sense lines are the same, then it should work

There may be. I've never heard of anyone trying this before as people usually don't do "downgrades". However I reckon there's no harm in trying.

The Color Classic MOBO is really an LC, so it can support 640x480. Depending on how much vram you have, you may be stuck with 16 colors.
