| g3 B&W to g4 sawtooth |
Posted by: madmann on 2007-08-07 20:28:14 i would like to get a sawtooth or giga bit mobo into a blue and white. I love the case but would like a faster processor. I have 700 mhz zif but the bus is now 66 mhz. I think the power supply will work if i use the sawtooth or gigbit board. This would allow me to use the memory and hard drives. Does anyone know if the back plane can be changed to accept the i/o ports from the new mobo. Is it possible to use the newer apple cpu (quicksilver) in the old board?

I think the power supply will work if i use the sawtooth or gigbit board. the B&W/Yikes PSU is _not_ compatible with the Sawtooth or GBE when left stock! Modding it for use with a Sawtooth is not hard but for the GBE you will need a new connector on the PSU and voltages that the B&W PSU does not supply.Does anyone know if the back plane can be changed to accept the i/o ports from the new mobo. The I/O panel in the Sawtooth and GBE is part of the chassis. Is it possible to use the newer apple cpu (quicksilver) in the old board? What old board? The B&W or Sawtooth/GBE? it will _not_ work in the B&W but it can work in the Sawtooth/GBE with slight modifications. |

i know after the mystic or digital audio the psu used a 22 pin connector
i thought that the sawtooth and giga bit used the same or similar psu as the yikes
thanks for the input
