The brightness/contrast buttons don't seem to respond. Does anyone know what the problem could be?

| Posted by: tomlee59 on 2007-07-17 15:51:02 A common problem is a bad flex cable or connections. If it's just the latter, often simply removing then reinserting the cable will fix the problem. In other cases, the cable tears near the hinge, necessitating a cable replacement (in general; they're very hard to fix well, so replacement is usually required).

| Posted by: tomlee59 on 2007-07-17 19:59:23 Did you check the cables at both ends? The more troublesome end is at the edge of the LCD panel itself.
And the tear generally happens where you'd expect, where it flexes the most.
If all that seems ok, then you've got more serious problems. Try applying gentle pressure on various parts of the display panel to see if anything interesting happens.
