Posted by: alk on 2007-07-08 20:01:26 Very nice! Good find! It's a good thing I didn't see that auction, or you very well might have found yourself paying $131.01!
Good on you!
Peace,
Drew

Posted by: Unknown_K on 2007-07-08 20:33:19 Wow pricey, I have one for my Amiga 3000. I had to purchase the SUN verion to get the mousepad, but it was under $10 shipped for both (hard to find the mousepad).
Guess you wanted one bad if you were going to bid that much.
|
Posted by: 003 on 2007-07-08 21:11:56 I actually have two mouse pads for it right now, one the normal size, and one an oversize version! The one in the auction will be my third. And the fact that the mouse and pad are both mint... it's like the auction was made for me!

Posted by: MacG4 on 2007-07-09 06:48:41 i bid on that mouse as well

Posted by: Bunsen on 2007-07-09 08:00:34 You paid $40 - for a mouse???

You paid $40 - for a mouse??? a vintage optical mouse thank you 🙂 |

You paid $40 - for a mouse??? People seem to pay more than that for the Apple Mighty Mouse, given that it retails for £35 in the UK - not that I'd use it if you gave me one, they seem really poor quality.

You paid $40 - for a mouse??? Actually more like $50 with shipping.
It is the ONLY adb-native multi button optical mouse ever made afaik. You occasionally see the ps2 one on sale but the adb one seems quite rare. The one I got is the first one I have ever seen for sale, and I have been constantly watching e-bay and other websites for a VERY long time. I was beginning to give up hope that I would ever find one.
|
Posted by: kreats on 2007-07-09 12:13:41 The early optical mice had really dodgy tracking.. hence the special reflective pad.
One of these would probably do the job better:

but wouldn't look as swish of course.
Interesting ebayer name...

Posted by: 003 on 2007-07-09 12:41:05 I have one of those geethree adapters. It works nice but I still like having the "real thing" better.
|
Posted by: Unknown_K on 2007-07-09 13:25:57 Only one of the 2 sensors is optical, forget what the other one is.

Posted by: kreats on 2007-07-09 15:13:42 What I was alluding to was this:

So I guess you bought this then?

You seem to be quite the ebay entrepreneur - hope you leave some for the rest of us.

Posted by: 003 on 2007-07-09 15:51:59 The first auction was mine.
The second is not mine nor did I win it or even try to win it. There is a thread about that second auction in the compact mac forum.
I sold the grayscale setup because I need money. I am in a very bad situation right now that is about to get worse.
I will probably end up reselling the mouse after I've had my fun with it. I'm just like that... :/

It is the ONLY adb-native multi button optical mouse ever made afaik. Sfunny, I could have sworn the two Honeywell ADB mice on my shelf had two buttons each...
Any chance you could post a scan of that mousemat when you receive it ? [😀] ]'>
|
Posted by: 003 on 2007-07-09 22:57:34 I don't have a scanner, unfortunately. Actually I meant to say it's the only 3 button optical adb mouse. I have also heard of some 2 button optical adb mice. I actually own the kensignton mouse in a box, optical. It works, but technically it's cheating because it uses a usb to adb adapter (which unfortunately does not work on other usb mice, I tried). And it only has one button.
|
Posted by: Mike Richardson on 2007-07-10 12:57:24 I used to have a two button adb ball mouse but its gone now.
|
Posted by: 003 on 2007-07-11 11:31:34 I got the mouse today! It is exactly as it was described, mint condition and it arrived very fast! I will try it out later when I have more time.
