Power Mac 6100/60
Posted by: IPNixon on 2007-07-03 16:35:14
I put out a request on Freecycle for any unwanted working/non-working Macs...I got a response from a guy who supposedly had a IIsi to give me.

Well, I went out today to go grab it, and alas, it was a Power Mac 6100.

I haven't tried it at all, but here's some pics of everything I got:

(Yes, that *is* an AAUI-RJ45 adapter 😀 )

Nice find. Am I right in thinking that is a RGB display, the kind that was used mainly on the II's? Looks like the 6100 has been kept in damp, humid or corrosive conditions with all that rust on the bottom. Hopefully this won't have affected the innards.

I'd like a 6100 as it's got an attractive, low profile case. Unfortunately I just don't have any space for more Macs!

Ewwww...water damage. I'd disassemble that thing and check everything over for corrosion and get that case bottom de-rustified.

That's a lot of rust!

Yeah...when he handed it to me, I felt stuff on the bottom. I hoped it was just a film of dirt or something, but when I brought it back to my brother's Jeep, I flipped it over and saw it 🙁

Oh, well. This is Performa/PM 6xxx #7 for me 😀

EDIT: Whoops, I hit 7 instead of 6. I've got 6 of these. 😛

Nice machine... it sure was in a damp place!
