Appleshare IP requirements?

What are the requirements for Appleshare IP 3 and 4?

There is no Appleshare "IP" 3 or 4. The IP part was introduced in versions 5 and 6, meaning that earlier versions are Appletalk only.

There is, however, Shareway IP, which allows you to access an Appleshare 3 or 4 server using the IP protocol, like from X.4.

Now to your question: Appleshare 3 ran on a 68030; 4 was available in two versions, one for the 68040 and the other for (as I recall) nubus ppc. Appleshare 4 works VERY well on a base 7.1 install: extremely stable.

There is also Appleshare Pro, which runs on A/UX.

There is a lengthy document on Apple's website somewhere which lists the requirements in detail.
