Looking for Female DB9 for a conection
Posted by: HoneyDoe on 2014-12-22 11:54:38
My macintosh 30SE want's to extend it's conection out to a linux server over serial,

I have an Apple serial to DB9 male, and I would like to get the proper conection so my linux can act as an apple talk server

Would I just need a null modeom? can I get a db-25 + db-9 female null pci cad?

Please look for null modem cable pinout at http://lam.kilu.de/ → LAM → Nullmodemkabel (great resource, in German language, but the schematics are self explanatory).

Yep you can roll your own, but a DE-9 M->F null modem adapter block ought to be inexpensive to source.

Maybe less even that just buying the parts to make one. 😉

Definitely! ;D

I forgot to ask if there's a printer or serial I.D. on the DIN end of your adapter cable? The former would already be null-modem configured.
