| Menubar Clock |
Posted by: MultiFinder on 2007-06-14 16:54:44 Is there a way to put a clock in the menubar in System 7.0.1? If there is, I'd really like to know how. I've gotten so used to having a clock there in oevery other Mac OS, that it's a bit of a bother on my Classic II. Danke!

You can download SuperClock from where ever. Google is your friend That's what I've been looking for for some time now. However, while there is a plethora of links to it, every single one of the little buggers seems to be dead :\

However, while there is a plethora of links to it, every single one of the little buggers seems to be dead :\ That's the problem with very old software. You have to search far and wide before you find a link that still works. If you do manage to get a copy, please upload it someplace where others can get it.

Just click the link and the download will begin.
oops the !.sit got cut off. You'll need to add that manually to the link or copy and paste.

Posted by: LCGuy on 2007-06-14 22:39:56 I think Apple actually acquired SuperClock and incorporated it into System 7.5 Date and Time control panel, right? I'll have to check but i'm pretty sure it says something like "Menubar clock by SuperClock!" or something along those lines.

Posted by: MultiFinder on 2007-06-14 22:41:22 It works great! Now I finally have a clock there and can see just how horribly my PRAM battery is doing 😛

Posted by: iamdigitalman on 2007-06-14 22:50:53 this is actually like the original eyeballs extension. the developer used to host it on their website, but now they only have the shareware OS X version. Every download site I tried pointed to the dev's website. I managed to find it somewhere, and in addition to keeping it on all my classic macs, I keep it in a .hqx on a floppy.
it's pointless but essential in my book. Plus, sometimes it actually IS productive, and can find my mouse pointer before I do 🙂

Posted by: Scott Baret on 2007-06-15 19:17:35 SuperClock...one of my favorites.
I found that for utilities like that the best places to get them are on the actual media. Go to your library and search for either of the following:
1. Macworld Mac & Power Mac Secrets, 2nd Edition (floppy disks include SuperClock and a few other goodies)
2. Macintosh Revelations (you get a CD-ROM with a ton of utilities, games, etc on it)
At this point in time your best bet may be a used book sale for either of these titles, but those two were my favorite souces for shareware/freeware.
