Newton eMate 300

After a few attempts I have managed to pick up an eMate of eBay. It comes complete with power supply, teachers guide and graphing calculator handbook (the photo also shows a stylus which is handy). I have always wanted to get one of these and this one should arrive before I get home from site on Friday!

Hopefully it arrives safely and matches the description [🙂] ]'>

Heh, I assume that was the one I was also eyeing off this week. Congratulations. I've decided to hold out for a 2100

I had one that I missed out on, near me, and with the box. went for a 2000 with both PC card blanks, battery tray, keyboard, interconnect adapter, and carrying case for all of it. Never regretted it. the "missing" 3mb of RAm is not much to me. If I need to, i'll get a 2100 mainboard and perform the surgery. I like the apple logo better on mine.

-digital 😉

Congrats! I have an eMate, and 2 2100's (well, UMP 2000's). I love the things, and there isn't much you can't do on them.

I assume you already know about unna.org ? If not, get thee there immediately. Ask if you need any suggestions about software.

Compared to the MP2x00's, the keyboard for the eMate is a dream (a tad smaller than normal, but perfect for me), and the screen is a bit larger, which is, surprisingly, much nicer on the eyes than one would think. I'm guessing...this may be your first, but likely not your only Newt ;D

Not to hijack this thread, but I have an interesting PDA find coming my way...more in a couple o'days/after the weekend, so I can figure the thing out... [😀] ]'>

Sorry Bunsen!

I know about unna.org - I have a few other Newtons as well. I will post pictures when I get back to Perth and open the package.

Ah, it's OK. It would have been sheer indulgence for me to bid any higher- I need to curb my collectomania and put some cash into tools and equipment for the workshop. I'll pick up a 2100 when the time is right. Enjoy

I will look after it! [😀] ]'>

It ended up being a few dollars short of my maximum...
