| Where is the cuda and the pram on a Clamshell iBook w/ FW? |
Posted by: Maconthemove on 2007-05-30 16:08:53 Going to reset the cuda and rplace the PRAM battery. Cannot find a service
manual for it. The keyboard comes off easily.

The Service Source manual is not a lot of help, it just shows you how to do upgrade the Ram and AirPort under the keyboard, which is also documented in the standard user manual - it looks like they never wanted anyone to open these up. The service manual says to reset the power manager you use the little reset switch above the power switch where you have to stick a paperclip or something in.

Posted by: coius on 2007-05-30 19:06:33 actually, the battery is a capacitor on the board. It holds power for 3 minutes. So if you swap out the battery when the machine is unplugged, you have 3 minutes to do it before it resets everything. Also, iirc, the Button is the reset one up by the LCD. hold that in for 1 minute and you should be good 🙂

Posted by: ~tl on 2007-05-31 06:52:50 IIRC the other button is the "programmers button" which appeared on machines around that time. I could be wrong though...

Posted by: The Macster on 2007-05-31 07:31:21 The service manual contains this diagram of the logic board, if that is of any use in answering your question. That is all they really say about the innards of it, there are no instructions for opening it up or anything like that.
