Powerbook 150 no start
Posted by: Quadraman on 2007-05-20 16:13:42
I just picked up a Powerbook 150 and have some problems. It wouldn't start at first but I seem to have gotten past that. First, I get a yellow rectangle in the upper right of the screen for some reason. It doesn't look like screen burn or anything. It is a perfect rectangle. When I mouse over to it, the pointer disappears behind it.

Second, the hard drive spins, clunks for a couple of seconds, stops, then does it again a few seconds later, then I get the question mark floppy disc on the screen.

OK, I managed to get a boot, but the hard drive is still very noisy. I don't know if it is going to continue to boot. The real annoyance is the yellow box on the screen. Has anyone had a screen problem like this?

And what is an error 36 in system 7.5??

That screen issue is a common issue with PB150 LCD panels.

As for that Error 36, have a look in MacErrors.
