Powerbook 1400

I also got a power book 1400 back in January! It has a powerpc 603e 117, 12mb of ram and OS 8. I don't use it much but occasionally I use it for photoshop. It came with the original box and everything was mint.

If it has an active matrix screen, it would be a prime candidate for a G3 upgrade 🙂

The 117 isn't going to give good results in Photoshop as it lacks the cache memory of the faster 1400's. I'd be giving that G3 upgrade a good hard look if I was running Photoshop on that machine.

you got the low cost no cache version of that line

still a good machine but its still a good machine the G3 upgrade might not be worth it though if you dont use it much

Nice haul! I like the 1400 alot, I think it was one of the nicest notebooks Apple made in the 1990's.

I have both extremes of the line, a 1400cs/117 and a 1400c/166. Yes, there is quite a difference!
