| Free Classic and MORE! |
Posted by: CompuNurd on 2014-12-10 18:30:15 Someone told me last week that they had some old Mac stuff and wanted to know if I would take it. I said I would, no matter if it's new or old.
Today, I get this, and she said she has more!
The screen just shows a small horizontal line, so the sweep circuit might be messed up. Not bad, considering it's all free!

She owned a 512k at one point, but I don't think she has it anymore. I guess the manuals didn't change till the Plus... This should pair great with my 128k on its way.

Posted by: ScutBoy on 2014-12-10 18:36:28 Nice - love it when that happens. Every once in a while at work "stuff" will show up in my cube, because I'm "the 'likes old computers' guy"

Posted by: TheWhiteFalcon on 2014-12-10 19:00:23 I saw this and thought it was a giveaway.

Posted by: SuperToaster on 2014-12-11 16:35:48 Did it come with disks?
|

Did it come with disks? Yep, look in the third picture. It's hard to make out what they are, and they are put away ATM, so I will have to look later.

that thing is in reeealy good condition. Certainly compared to the one I picked up in a lot. I have added a new color to the spectrum: Commodore Brown

Posted by: techknight on 2014-12-12 14:08:28 Thats bad..

Posted by: Sherry Haibara on 2014-12-13 03:57:33 Wow, to say that's yellowish would be a huge understatement! 😀
But congrats on the free one, it's in very nice condition with all the manuals and stuff, plus you can't beat "free" 🙂
If I recall correctly there should be a couple of transistor that specifically manage the sweep circuit, one being the horizontal output transistor. They might be shot, unfortunately the dead mac scrolls only cover up to the SE/30, but you should be able to find some diagnostic help searching the threads in the compact mac forum!
