| Name this cable! |
Posted by: John8520 on 2007-05-01 18:29:07 I've had this 9pin - 25pin cable around for ages, and I always thought it was a 9pin - 25pin serial cable. Problem is, it never seemed to work any time I used it, I always figured there was a software problem. So tonight I broke out the multimeter, and tested away. Aparently its not even close to a serial cable, I've never seen one like it.
Here's the pinout I made of it - http://john8520.homeunix.org:8888/files/cable.txt
Thoughts on as to what it might be?

Posted by: John8520 on 2007-05-02 10:20:45 Nope, its a serial adatper cable!
I also found out that if I link it with two of my 25pin - RJ45 adapters (with an ethernet cable in the middle) I get a null modem cable!
So right now I have it sitting by my iMac, and I'm terminaled into my linux machine. It works quite well, but it seems that irssi and nano don't work... 🙁
