Need help make a GS bootable disk
Posted by: xboxown on 2017-10-18 14:45:41
   Hey guys,

I have a game called Lambda it is an awesome game but it is in shk file. I extracted it and want to put it in 2mg disk image using cider express but I want to make it bootable enough to enter GS/OS and have the game inside of it at the same time. I saw a game called solitaire that have this ability. When I put solitaire or TML basic in it's own it boots in GS/OS (basic enough) to get inside the GUI and run the game or app inside the GUI interface.

How do I go about doing that? Any advice would be greatly appreciate it.

Thanks in advance.

Ok, I found a copy of lambda.shk.  The files he's got essentially assumes you're going to be already booted to GSOS with a hard drive, then the game (and only the game) is on the floppy disk.  There probably isn't going to be room to have a functional GSOS _and_ the game on a single floppy.  So - do you have a mass-storage device of some sort hooked to your GS that has GSOS on it?  If not, this isn't really a good example of a bootable game disk.

Thank you so much david for your help and reply. I am going to go ahead and buy microdrive and install system 6.0.4 fully into it and install tml basic and install lambda and install all the hard drive games in it as much as possible. Time to turn my apple //gs into a serious business machine!
