| Finally got a lime iBook! |
Posted by: trigf on 2017-09-18 06:48:54 I've been hunting this baby down for years. There's one seller on eBay that tries to sell extremely hideous modified iBooks as "Pre-production" or "Special Edition" models, but they're just ugly and overpriced.
Yesterday, in my weekly eBay browse, I finally saw it: A lime iBook G3 for sale, and without a scalper's price on it.

I did the Buy It Now, because I wasn't going to let this one slip through the cracks. This now completes my iBook collection with the original six colored versions (Graphite was available in the original clear and updated white cases) the white iBook G3, and both 12 and 14 inch iBook G4's.

Well done, and Congrats! Color me envious.

Well done, and Congrats! Color me envious. Thank you! They are so hard to find in decent condition, and for a non-ridiculous price.

The Lime colour really stands out.

The Lime colour really stands out. I've done this before and the girls at Starbucks thought it was cute 🙂

They're the ultimate hipster Mac - fire up that thing in a coffee shop and prepare to be asked lots of questions! Evidently, old Nokia cell phones are too.
I once took my old 5190 to a Starbucks in San Francisco, and someone commented on it.
Sadly, it's on the cusp of being useless (AT&T shut down their 2G network), but at least T-Mobile still works for now (their 2G service is slated to stay online through at least 2019, though it looks like they want everyone to move to LTE and 5G so they can shut it down sooner).
Oh, well. I should get a cheap prepaid card and stick it in the 5190 for fun.

And yes CC_333 the Nokia 5190 is an awesome phone. Collecting vintage cell phones is another hobby of mine, And knowing that 2G will be gone soon makes me sad.
