| Found these two parts in my disk drive of 800k Macintosh SE |
Posted by: mactjaap on 2017-09-02 11:36:21 I heard a stange sound and opend up this not working 800k disk. I found these two parts in the motor and removed them. Now it works fine.
Who now what these can be?

Posted by: SalvationCoder on 2017-09-02 18:10:36 I found these same bits in the original 800k floppy drive of my 512ke after I took it out of my closet and felt confident enough to restore it. The floppy drive had been basically shot (with short bouts of functionality) ever since I got it, and had only deteriorated from there. When I replaced it, I found pieces just like those rattling around. I never did determine with certainty exactly what they were, but circumstantial evidence led me to suspect that they were part of the read/write head assembly.

@SalvationCoder
Woow. Wat a coincidence! I'm curious if anybody can solve this mystery. One of the parts was even in the motor giving a nasty sound.
