Should I remove a Varta 3V rechargeable on a Macintosh SE logic board?

I opend up my Macintosh SE 800k and found a Varta 3V rechargable battery still in place. And is it still charging....

What should I do. Leave it or get rid of it?

I remove ALL batteries from ALL machines... Only because I'd forget to remove them before storing them.. They are ticking time bombs... It may never have an issue but why take the chance.. And the settings the battery holds doesn't even matter for anyone today!

I also install tantalum caps where I can.. I try to remove anything with any type of fluid that has the potential to leak!!!!

In ALL my duo's I remove the duo internal PRAM battery as well... Basically any PRAM batt's are removed from everything.. first order of business.

In the poor Varta's defence, I have never seen one fail or leak... It's quite amazing that those things can still hold a charge after all these years...

My 2x800k SE has one and it's the only one I didn't remove. And let me tell you I'm not the kind of guy who trusts any kind of battery (Nearly all remotes and appliances around the house are battery-less for a reason.)

Edit: BTW, what kind of daughter board is that? Is that an accelerator?

I have seen those black vata's leak (But only one mind you) so yeah, I would defiantly remove it

The board is a Dayna Network card.

I clipped the one in my IIgs. New or old those 1/2AA lithium batteries make me feel uncomfortable. Thats why none of my vintage Macs have batteries in them.
