battery cage for SE30, where to get a replacement?
Posted by: Alex on 2017-08-05 18:56:35
Dear 68K'ers

I have an SE30 but when I got it the battery holder (cage) is missing so I can't even install a battery.

I have googled this for about a half an hour and can't find anything.

Could someone help me locate a compatible part?

Thank you!

Would this work:

https://store.retrofixes.com/products/macintosh-se-pram-motherboard-battery-holder-upgrade

I bought some batteries from here and they seem to be fine:

Hi Mraroid

Thank you VERY much for looking this up for me. I think https://store.retrofixes.com/products/macintosh-se-pram-motherboard-battery-holder-upgradewill do.

I wonder what the originals were. In fact, from memory the Power Mac G series even uses the same on used in the SE.

Great general link by the way. I linked this page, thanks again!

Kindest regards

I use Keystone part number 108 (battery holder) and 108C (cover).

Can you post a picture of the missing "cage".

I have them available with capacitor orders, but if all you need is the battery holder, the Digi-Key link is probably more affordable.
