PowerBook help
Posted by: haplain on 2017-07-17 20:25:42
So I'm working on a very special powerbook and need some help... the motherboard has the PowerBook 165/180 style CPU connector (larger than the PowerBook 170 style). The issue is the inverter board.

The board on top is the one I need to use with the PowerBook's motherboard for the connector but the LCD this laptop came with only has 2 wires to it. The lower board has the correct connector but cannot attach to the board correct.

Does anyone have any suggestions to get the LCD working?

Yes, pretty special indeed.

The LCD is closer to the 180 model, not the 140/145 you will expect to be connected to the two wire inverter.

Should those electronic items be on a rug/carpet that is probably highly electrostaticly charged?

I had the same problem once. You will figure it out I am sure.

After carefully checking everything online, and appreciate the feedback, I think a PB180 is going to be the closest to get this gem working. Assuming that's the case, I'll be posting some new items to my quest this week! They will not disappoint.
