I know this refers to RAM addressing, and it has happened now with three RAM cards.
When no RAM card is installed, the Classic boots normally.
Any ideas on this one? The logic board is recapped. Interestingly, the non-recapped board in there earlier wasn't taking them either. (Seriously, what are the odds three of my RAM cards are bad? I do have a few other Classics I could test them in).
| Posted by: techknight on 2017-05-22 18:55:49 bad trace to the RAM connector which is triggering a fault during the testing phase. Thats assuming the on-board RAM of the expansion itself isnt bad.
| Posted by: Scott Baret on 2017-05-22 20:21:48 That's exactly what I was afraid of...I know it's not the easiest repair.
Speaking of which, how's that Classic II board coming along? Uni had sent it to you three years ago to look at since it had some trace issues; he sold me another one to put in my Classic II. Hopefully you still have it and were able to come up with some answers from it.
| Posted by: techknight on 2017-05-23 13:19:08 Yikes!! Any boards that uni has sent me has been returned to uni after I went on hiatus from lack of time.
Never realized I had your CII board, if I did, uni has it back long long long ago.
Also, when I moved from OH to NC I had a box of boards and schematics uni had sent me, disappear... I cannot locate that box anywhere, and it cant be found at the old shop. In the unfortunate circumstance that it was yours in there, its long gone, and if thats the case then I will have to figure something out.
I know uni's CC board was in there among a couple others. if your CII board was used to build a schematic from BOMARC, it was probably the one that was in the "disappearing box"
