| Sonnet Encore G4 800MHz Driver? |
Posted by: Johnnya101 on 2017-05-21 15:41:58 Got a G3 minitower with a G4 ZIF upgrade.
No fans on it though... Strange.
Anyways, it has "800/1MB" sticker so Im guessing its an 800Mhz. Sonnet only has drivers for the 500MHz and the 1GHz...
Anyone know where I can get a driver for this 800 one?

I have almost the same setup — 640MB RAM and G4 1GHz card (awaiting its power cable though). It's the fastest way to run System 8.1.

It's the fastest way to run System 8.1. I remember running System 8.6 on my Sawtooth a long time ago when I still had it. It seemed very fast and was quite responsive! Maybe that's just my memory, but I liked it.

It does sometimes remind me of starting a carbureted car on a cold day-if mine hasn't been on in a while, it sometimes needs a couple of starts and maybe a PRAM reset to get it to boot completely. Once it's going, though, it's a beast.
