| Classic boot problem |
Posted by: patatas on 2017-05-07 01:16:45 I turned on my Mac classic which was working flawlessly and not I do not get a chime but I get a pointer in the top left corner..no visible issues on the board.
Any ideas?

Posted by: bibilit on 2017-05-07 09:31:05 The SE/30 has a similar issue when SCSI chip is bad:

don't know if the Classic can be the same, never had this issue.
Try removing the HD, FD and memory board if available for a test first.

Posted by: 68k User on 2017-09-20 03:50:27 In the last few days, my recapped and perfectly working SE/30... seems not to recognize its internal Hard Disk - floppy disk icon with question mark blinking appears at start up - and doesn't boot even if HD is spinning and HD light is blinking.
It can boot with floppy disk; for example with System 7 Disk 1 Installer, but then even the Installer doesn't see internal HD... After some restart, Mac boots normally and everything seems ok, even turning it off for a couple of minutes and restarting it. But if I leave it turned off for more time, i.e. some hours, the problem appears again.
I remove clock battery, reset PRAM and re-install OS, but the problem still persists...
Do you have any ideas? In your opinion, should it be an HD problem or maybe something else?
Thank you
