SCSI2SD OS Install
Posted by: MacSE on 2017-04-29 12:54:26
I recently picked up a Macintosh SE/30 at a local estate sale for free. (It was the last day of the sale and nobody wanted it.)

I have a SCSI2SD ready to install in the computer, but I want to know if I can just copy the files off my System 6.0.8 boot disk onto the SD card, or do I have to buy an installation disk?

Thanks in advance.

You can copy the boot disk. Make sure the thing is set up properly first.

First you need to clean and recap the machine.

Its like changing batteries these days. gotta be done.

+1 for cleaning and recapping the logic board. Do it now before you get broken traces and other fun surprises like that.

Sometimes there are problems with these machines that do get fixed by a simple recap, other times patch wires are necessary.

Yea!  I also think that you need to re cap everything first.  But....

Here is a link to down load the install package for 6.0.8:

The nuts and bolts on how to down load and how to make boot floppies are here at the Low End mac page.  A good read:
