Apple Macintosh Color Display Issues...
Posted by: Johnnya101 on 2017-04-18 17:43:17
Hi all...

Just turned on my Mac Color Display for the first time today.

It has bowed in sides and the color is tinted purple.

I am HOPING this is just geometry and color adjustments... NOT caps. I did open it up and saw no bulging caps. Luckily someone in the past cut the three small holes in the case of adjustment.

Any thoughts? The video is also raised too much.

bowed in on sides: geometry adjustment

tinted purple: likely a color adjustment,

raised video: Also a geometry (specifically position) adjustment.

Got it! Everything is perfect except one thing...

The flyback is making a zzzzzzzz sound.

I think it has the issue where its just vibrating and needs a spacer, correct? Or is it a failing flyback? I will be having this on for a few hours tomorrow on display and would hate for it to go then if thats the issue!

You talk a little bit about things going on display, where do you show your things? I'm kinda curious!

Oh its just a school event. I found a way to wedge my way in there with old stuff! 😀

But what is that flyback sound?

Well, I guess if there's no weird distortions in the picture, you can proceed cautiously, monitoring the flyback for any changes in the sound.
