| Studio Display M4551(A) Software? |

I’m having trouble pairing a Studio Display M4551(A) with a Macintosh Display Card 24AC (ROM 1.1) in a Macintosh IIcx. I can only display 640x480, not the native resolution 1024x768.
Is there any suitable software out there?

I know the Display Card 24AC supports 1024x768 at 60 and 75Hz and 24-bit colour depth, but I think that its sense coding scheme is incompatible with the more modern DDC used on your Studio display by default. Many of Apple's more modern monitors utilising the DA-15 connector and DDC have a way of turning it off via the menu/on screen display. That might be the ticket here. If not, SwitchRes should show the hidden resolutions.

Sadly, the Studio Displays were never supported on 68K systems and Apple specifically listed 24AC as not being supported. I learned that the hard way with my Quadra 700+PPC upgrade (using Radius rom version of 24AC). Griffin did make some DA15 adapters to help legacy systems but I can't recall which ones.
PS: Congrats on beating me on Tradera on that card! 😉

Griffin had quite a few adapters back in the day. It's all a blur now. I did use a Sony LCD panel with my Radius card with no problem once I installed the drivers.
