VGA on Apple NuBus Potrait Video card?
Posted by: MrGasS27 on 2017-04-03 12:19:48
Hi, in my IIci that I bought 6 months ago there was this NuBus Potrait Video card with a DB13w3 connector.

In November my Sony Trinitron died, and I can't use IIci and IIsi cause I don't have a good monitor that supports them, I can use Quadra 700 on an LCD with VGA adapter as well, but I can't use it with Macintosh II series.

So, can I solder a VGA port on it? Someone tried to hack this card? This solution may work with LCD and VGA adapter?

Thank you.

You're still going to get only 640x870@75Hz Portrait output from that card. Your IIci and IIsi already do Portrait output from the onboard video's DA-19. If you can't get that to work with your VGA adapter and monitor, don't mess with that Portrait Card, it won't work either.

Does the Q700 output something at 60Hz?

Quadra 700 outputs video at 67 hz if I remember correctly.

I'm buying another Sony Trinitron for my Macintosh II, I'll not mess up with portrait card.

I remember that Quadra 700 outputs @60 hz, but when I attached it to my AOC LCD I saw 67 hz, I don't remember clearly
