| PB190 or 5300 pram battery cable? (missing connector) |

I'm hunting for a replacement pram battery for my 5300cs
I'm going to try rebuilding a battery setup from scratch.
What is the connector type at the end of the cable that is used? Anyone know of similar cable/connector that could be used?

I think I can mod a cmos battery for a dell, since the connectors look the same.
[NOTE: Dell and other PeeCee devices use CR2032 coin cells (non-rechargeable) while the fruit company standardized on VL2330. I have a pair of VL2330 laying around.]
I'm going to use a thin piece of copper with a lead off of it to get the proper neg-3v-6v connections.
Then use "wire glue" to hold them together and insure a good contact w/o corrosion.
Yes, I will post pics for this process so others can learn from my success (or failure!).

Based on another suggestion, it was recommended to use sheet brass from a hobby shop to come up with the 3v plate, as it won't corrode as fast as copper.
For those wondering what "wire glue" is, see the following link: (yes, I have used it in the past to fix small connections)

NOTE: Its VERY thin stuff, not like JB-Weld or such and holds fairly well. (but its not for connectors you "tug" on)
It also requires HEAT to fully set otherwise you are waiting a week for it to dry.

Does the 5300 actually have a PRAM battery??? I don't see one in there. and I don't see where the connector would be on the system board.
The service manual only talks about the 190.
Am I missing something???

Just realized the jack for the PRAM plug is on the power unit (under the label) on the 5300. Its on the board for the 190.

I'm all good, but, I noticed my 5300ce has a very corroded power unit now that I am working on it. I got a donor 190 off of fleabay last month and now I am scavanging it to get my 5300ce in tip top shape.
One of the battery connectors is nearly toast... I might try and remove the springboard and harvest a similar connector from my 190. This could get "interesting".

NOTE: Permatex makes a similar conductive glue that is used for rear window defogger repair. I might try that as well. Its a bit thicker, but, it has more conductive material in it than "wire glue".
going to run to Michaels and see if I can score some thin sheet brass for my PRAM battery build.
