| Panasonic SCSI CDROM for 5300? |
Posted by: FacnyFreddy on 2017-03-19 09:21:12 Anyone have experience with the external/portable CDrom drives that look like portable players on the 5300 powerbooks?
I know I need a 30pin-DB50 pin cable setup, but, the CDrom drives I see on fleabay are the internal battery type.
Are these all junk or will they work for basic usage? (booting and installing Os 8.1)

I'll let everyone know once I get it running.

As far as booting from a CD-ROM goes, couldn't do it on my 540c with the similar Panasonic drive (I believe KXL-D740) on its own but would work with a Disk Tools floppy with an appropriate extension
