I will be installing a 2.1GB SCA HD with 80 to 50 adapter.
Questions:
1) Where do I connect an LED? I have a bunch of ATX PC LED's with 2 pin female header. Where would I connect this? Or was the LED originally connected to the missing hard drive?
2) There are a couple of 'ears' with holes in them where I believe I can mount my own bracket. Is this where the oem bracket was attached to. Any special size screws?
Thanks I am new to macs. So far I successfully recapped and have sound and clear video but waiting for hd adapter to do the hard drive

2.) The original drive bracket had two tabs that slid into those two holes on the front top side of the floppy and then screwed down onto the two holes on the top back of the floppy drive. A drive bracket out a Mac SE would also fit the SE/30. There's a bracket here on ebay that's actually an aftermarket one but looks to have more standard drive mounting holes than the factory one, it should fit fine. http://www.ebay.com/itm/142109465895 . If you want the factory one, http://www.ebay.com/itm/132023344054is it but beware as the screw holes for the drive don't actually line up with the majority of drives, really only the factory 20 meg Miniscribe.

I have a 330mb SCSI drive fastened to the bracket with tape because the holes do not line up - at first I thought I had a prototype or reject.

Surely you must know someone with a drill or tabletop drill press, that can help you.
Years ago, I was lucky enough to have a part time job that needed one, and I was able to buy it off them for 25%, when the job was done.
At the time, low power ones were $50, and medium presses started at $69, like the one I have..
Hell, when I had my Q 950, I put holes in the bottom of the case, and had a total of 5 SCSI drives in the internal buss, and Syquest, Zip, & CD ROM on the external....
| Posted by: fimbulvetr on 2017-03-13 08:30:28 I used zip ties to hold the hard drive to the floppy bracket on mine that was missing the HD sled. Just slid them through the top of the FD bracket. The HD shifts a little bit, a couple mm at most, but it seems to hold it pretty well.
