| Printing to a Imagewriter II from Macintosh SE |
Posted by: agent_js03 on 2017-03-03 07:38:13 I was given a full Apple IIGS system complete with an ImageWriter II printer. I have gotten this printer working from the IIgs, printing from appleworks. When I connect it to my Macintosh SE, I select "ImageWriter" from the chooser, and then when I write something in AppleWorks and try to print, it will say "printing" or something like that and then nothing will happen. Even when I press the select button on the printer, nothing comes out. Am I missing something? I have it connected to the printer port and everything. I couldn't find any "ImageWriter II" software, just ImageWriter (maybe I am looking in the wrong places).

I think it's supposed to read Imagewriter II. Is the extension enabled? It sounds like your printing to a printer thats not there.

Posted by: agent_js03 on 2017-03-12 12:02:05 I got it working! Apparently I was using the wrong cable. I have two din8 serial cables, one of them works, one doesn't. The one that doesn't has two arrows on the end pointing in opposite directions. The one that does just has one arrow pointing toward the end of the cable. Weird...
