I finally got the charger for my Wallstreet and tested it for the first time today. Unfortunately the results weren't pretty.

It does this every time I boot. I don't know where to start. PRAM? Board problem? Bad HD? I genuinely don't know.

Start without extensions, boot from cd, reset pram. What have you tried?

I don't know how to start without extensions or how to get at the PRAM battery, but I'll try my 9.0 CD to see if I can boot it that way.
EDIT-It booted off the 9.0 install CD, so I guess the installation of 8.6 on the hard disk had become corrupted somehow.

To start without extensions hold down the left shift key during boot time.
To reset PRAM hold down command-option-p-r when you press the power button to turn on the machine.

Right now I'm trying out a clean install of OS 9.0 (to see if clearing the HD and rebuilding the System Folder will permanently solve the issues) so when that's done I'll see if the problem reoccurs.

Well, it turns out the hard drive is bad in a way that formatting the drive can't cure. What a bummer. 🙁
OS 9.0 installation fails every time. Guess I need a new hard disk...

Is installation failing or is formatting failing? If you boot from cd and format the drive without installing os does that work?

Installation fails. The installer can't find the System folder and thus 9.0 never actually gets installed to the hard disk.

If your cd is known good it would be worth cleaning the cd drive. If you can format the hard drive with drive setup or whatever it's called on the 9 cd it should show the hard drive working.

Ran both Disk First Aid and Drive Setup and attempted installing 9.0 again and it failed. Guess it's time to get a hard drive replacement.

There's an adapter you can get with an enclosure that's the same size as a hard drive, fit right in the bracket. Works great.

Yeah, I have an 80GB mSATA and adapter for my one iMac G3. I'll have to get another one for the Wallstreet.
