| When to recap? 8100/100 |
Posted by: Arkas on 2017-02-20 13:02:26 Hi.
I've just pulled a Q800 and a 8100/100 from the Attic and I hope to resurrect them.
I still haven't plugged in the 8100/100.
DO I need to recap before I plug it in?

That may be due to multiple shorts on the board. Still means they need a re-cap even if they work after cleaning. You can generally look at the caps and see if they are leaking bad or not. Also it seems hit or miss. Some boards I have show zero signs of leaking while another machine of the same model is toast.

If the caps have leaked a few minute under power will not change anything.
