| Getting 9 on a 1ghz TiBook | |
| Posted by: Innes on 2017-02-16 11:20:14 Hi all I've got a 1ghz TiBook that i'm hoping to stick 9 on, preferably without removing the 10.4 install. Unfortunately, while I have an install disk, the machine boots off of it fine but wont refuses to run the install application. Just wondering what the correct OS9 install image is for this, as there are about a dozen different types on the garden and none of them explicitly state that its comparable with Tibooks. I can trial and error them but i don't fancy that 😛 Cheers! | |

There are two overall methods: The first is using the TIBook's original 10.2 install set and then either adding on 9.2.2 or installing it in customization. The second is that there's an 800MHz eMac CD that will boot the TiBook. I don't know if that has all of the drivers necessary, there may have been progress made on creating a more universal 9.2.2 install CD. | |

| Posted by: bunnspecial on 2017-02-17 15:35:34 Before going any further, right click on your HDD and check to see if it shows that the OS 9 drivers are installed. If the OS 9 drives are not installed you will not be able to boot OS 9 off the hard drive. There is no practical way to install the OS 9 drivers without re-formatting the drive. If you have to reformat the drive, I suggest running the full restore sequence. Many thanks for the assistance Its quite neat booting up an OS9 machine and not being pinged about a dead clock battery 😛  | |
