WOW, I've never seen those! Is that a second source bookcover assortment? I've got several from the original equipment set, but nothing like that. Beater has a design I did using the bookcover template, but it's nowhere near that colorful.

Nice snag, whatever the source. πŸ˜‰

Several of the 1400's in eBay have the Power PowerBook one installed at the moment.

Yeah the pack was done by six artists, don't know if it was sold or given with 1400 though...

Now just noticed one is missing in mine :-/ the one from Michael Bartalos, Will HAVE to find it.

And indeed, maybe will have to buy another 1400 to get that transparent cover πŸ™‚

One of the nicest features of the 1400.

I always wanted one of the solar power charging covers.

Scarce as hen's teeth now.

It ought to be easier to hack a standard cover using inexpensive, higher efficiency current tech panels and a Lexan window than it would be to find the original. Cannibalize solar powered outdoor lighting units and you can throw LEDs with day/night switching and industrial solar collection plant graphics into the mix.

Congrats, i am jealous, want the same set and transparent cover for my own 1400.

I thought they came with PowerBook, not separate.

Here is Damien Ward's Flickr set.

And a solar BookCover photo by some other guy.

As far as i know the set and transparent cover was included with the 1400.

Solar cover was accessory.

Yep, the clear cover was a standard equipment appointment/accessory. I've got several of what I assume to be stock boockcover set. The only one I have from the linked sets would be the all seeing Easter Island Eye.

The 3400c was the high end PowerBook, its eminently acceleratable mid-rang stablemate was meant to be a campus fashion statement with the bookcover features. You'd think they'd have included stereo speakers on the Campus Cutie.

Is that package where the ClarisWorks template originated?

Solar Cover = EXPEN$IVE Accessory

Those covers are really strange. Personally I wouldn't want one on a 1400 hahaΒ  πŸ™‚

indeed, not very J.Ive design kind of look πŸ™‚

Some looks like it's been designed under acid...

@Trash80toHP_Mini , Β there was only the images in the pack i've got. Don't know from where the template came.

Template PostScript file was part of preload Apple Extras, found on PowerBook 1400 HDD. I did not have space to keep my 1400 πŸ™ . I kept its template file with intention of redistributing it. Here it is, at last.
