Mac II not starting up
Posted by: tor77 on 2017-02-07 11:28:18
Today I bought 7 old macs (My wife is starting to wonder why she married me now)

This guy had two IIe, two Mac II, to SE's and one Quadra 800 :b&w: .

Quad 800 booted right up, like no problem (What a great computer that was in its day) . The SE's did not give me any trouble either.

The Mac II did not boot up, one was missing a HD, but the other one had this 5,25 HDD. Still it did not boot - not sure why - completely dead. Anyone got any thoughts about this?

Now, I've got so many macs I have to park outside the garage..

The Mac II needs two working PRAM batteries in order to generate some video. If you haven't replaced them, do now. It might just boot up.

You'll like this

NB: the batteries may be soldered to the logic board (like in the video), sometimes there are sockets...

Someone made a battery adapter for the Mac II. Link
