MiniScribe Repair
Posted by: IlikeTech on 2017-02-03 16:02:19
Hello, I have a miniscribe hard drive that is corrupt. It shows on the scsi chain, and its heads have not crashed. I'm gonna try to repair it. It try silver lining first.

Way to go silverlining! The drive works again, at least mostly.

Could you elaborate? First, what do you mean by "silverlining?" Second, how do you define "mostly works?"

Silverlining is Drive software by lacie. Also, the drive died again. It would occasionally miss a seek.

I have two Miniscribe SCSI drives sitting on a shelf for more than I can remember. One of them worked, but it sounded like it was about to die. The other one was more or less dead, and I also used Silverlining, but it didn't help.

Even when new, these drives were known for not being very reliable units.
