SE/30 Ethernet board ID
Posted by: ScutBoy on 2017-01-22 11:24:10
I have an Ethernet board for an SE/30. I can't find any company name on it.

There's one chip with a label that says "A Series Version 1"

The board is silk-screened "SI A series" and "PN594-TB". The last one makes me think it might be a Farallon card, since I can find reference to a PN594-C Farallon Ethernet card for the SE/30.

The card also has an empty socket which looks appropriate for a math co-processor.

The daughterboard has connection for an AUI connector, and RJ45 Ethernet.

Sorry - no pics at the moment, but I can dig the card out and take some if necessary. If I can find a Farallon driver diskette handy, I may just give that a try and see what happens 🙂

Can't wait to see where this goes...

I have the same card!

Instead of what yours says, mine says:

SI A SERIES BD-006C

Sticker says: PN594-TP VERSION 1.0

Other says: ASERIES V1.0 004010/55C687

Go to the peripherals links project (in peripherals) and get the tools to read the DeclROM.

So has anyone found it what it is?

Likely it's a Farallon card. (Sure it's not a 'TP' rather than 'TB'?)

See this http://www.recycledgoods.com/farallon-pn594-tp-ethermac-network-adapter.html

The drivers are on Macintosh garden or repository.

I have a few farallon disks... I'll post a photo later of the board and the disk

EDIT

That's it! That's my card! Are all driver disks the same? Yellow label... like the ones on eBay?

yeah - I'm 99% sure it's a farallon card. I have a driver disk, but the nerd corner is full of a TRS-80 in pieces, so I've not had a chance to try it out.

Here's photos of the card and the driver card that I would assume goes to it?

Have you tried the wayback machine for the dead links? Usually one will work...

OK found it.  Thanks for the Wayback idea, never thought of that!

Upload it to the driver museum and the garden.
