SB's Shopping Spree

Well, well, it's the holiday season, so why not shop a little bit?

I've tried not to spend a whole lot on this Mac thing anymore, as I'm concentrating my interests and selling off some of my extraneous stuff (well, extraneous in the fact I wasn't using it; some of the things I've sold so far have been quite desirable, including a boxed Color Classic) and using the profits on things like vacations and my sailboat fund...

That being said, I couldn't resist a few things...one out of necessity, the rest out of sheer fun...

* The Toy Shop, 2 copies worth, for Mac. Since floppies are so unreliable and unpredictable, I went ahead and bought two copies. I've been after this one for a while now and finally decided to splurge a bit...

* Microsoft Creative Writer for Mac. I read a review of this in the 1990s and picked this up to use with some of my students, since some are at that awkward phase where Kid Works 2 is too kiddish and the regular word processors don't have the creative tools they want. (I usually use standard word processors with anyone 4th grade on up, but the 2nd-3rd graders definitely need something good here). It's a good transition to Word and the like for them, since it's still kid-friendly but has that element of Microsoft formality about it.

* Another 12" RGB. I gambled on this one. It was an untested monitor but looked OK from the turned-on raster when I saw the eBay picture. It needs a slight vertical adjustment, nothing my modified watercolor brush tool can't handle, and works otherwise, letting me get another LC back into my mobile lab.

* A dust cover for my LC at home. This is mostly an anti-yellowing guard, just like the ones I have for the SE and Plus.

I lost a PowerBook 190cs to an eBay sniper in the last 20 seconds...and now am really tempted by this Performa 580CD on there...but I'm not sure if I want to risk Spindler Plastic in shipping and I'm a good 10 hours away from it...

I'm still looking for another low-cost AIO LC/Performa or pizza box with a 12" monitor (I have my reasons for wanting these monitors) to add to the set for the kids...maybe an older PB or Duo if it's under $50...but that's about it...
