| Quadra 700 |
Posted by: toples50 on 2016-11-13 08:42:53 Found a very good condition Quadra 700 for about 100 euros.(seems ok for me this price). The only part is missing is hard drive caddy.Where can I find one?

Posted by: joethezombie on 2016-11-13 10:04:15 I'm *almost* sure the IIci/IIcx/Q700 all use the same caddy, so you might include those models in your search.

Posted by: toples50 on 2016-11-13 12:46:46 Thanks for the reply´s.Actually I'm looking for the hard drive sled. Also I want to replace the hard drive.the Q700 has any hard drive capacity limit?
|
Posted by: Carboy7 on 2016-11-13 13:05:20 Not sure about the hard drive limit, but I would stay with a 400MB hard drive just to be safe.
EDIT: Did you check and/or pop the PRAM battery as well?

Posted by: omidimo on 2016-11-13 17:21:22 I am using a SCSI2SD with a 2GB Card and I tried a 4GB too. I also popped in an Apple branded 601 upgraded card to give the old girl the full package.

Posted by: toples50 on 2016-11-14 02:02:26 Some pics from the Q700.The disk drive is 1GB which is dead.Worked once and then stopped.I need a new one plus the sled.

Posted by: joethezombie on 2016-11-14 06:34:31 There are a couple of them listed on US eBay, not sure of shipping to your location. Hard Drive Carrier 815-5078-03. It's sad because when the hard drive is thrown out, the recyclers usually just throw out that piece along with the drive. Same with LC AIO sleds and edge connectors. ಠ_ಠ
That's a nice clean looking Q700!

Posted by: toples50 on 2016-11-17 10:03:22 Can I use any 50-pin SCSI hard drive to Q700?
|
Posted by: Compgeke on 2016-11-17 11:14:19 Yes. 50 pin drives are 50 pin drives. Doesn't matter if it's 20 MB or 20 GB.

Posted by: toples50 on 2016-11-28 12:19:44 I have found Hard Disk for the Q700 but still missing the hard drive carrier.Where can i found one?Like this in the picture.

Posted by: olePigeon on 2016-11-28 14:01:56 Your best bet is eBay. IIci, IIcx, Quadra 700 all used the same sled.

Here's one. Maybe you can negotiate a cheaper shipping price if you ask him/her to sell you just the sled.

Posted by: toples50 on 2016-11-29 03:29:37 Unfortunately they charge me about 40$(with USPS) to send this...I think its too expensive for a piece of metal.

Posted by: bibilit on 2016-11-29 05:16:53 You best solution is any European Country.
You can have a complete unit for less than $ 40...
