| HD20 (M0135) BlueSCSI |
Posted by: Tw3ek on 2026-10-02 10:20:59 Hello!
Does anybody know if it is possible to replace the internals of this drive with BlueSCSI? Looking it up, the drive in it does not appear to be typical SCSI standard but is a SCSI compatible drive? Just wondering if anyone else has attempted this. Thanks! |
Posted by: obsolete on 2026-10-02 10:25:33 No, but you could replace it with a variant of TashTwenty or a Floppy Emu. |
Posted by: finkmac on 2026-10-02 10:27:11 HD20 is an MFM drive that connects via the floppy interface*. It won't work with a SCSI emulator.
*There were 3rd party boards that added a SCSI connector.. but good luck finding one |

Secretly was hoping I could just replace the drive in there and the board would just handle everything, but it seems like that's not the case 🙁 |
Posted by: Forrest on 2026-10-02 10:47:02 You can buy a Tash Twenty here https://68kmla.org/bb/threads/tashtalk-raspberry-pi-hats-tashtwenty-tinys-and-more.52972/
I would discuss with the developer @Tashtari first about your application. I don't think you need a case, and you would want one with an IDC connector that would plug into the Apple board. |

Posted by: Tashtari on 2026-10-03 13:43:35 @warmech was working on a board called the "TashTwenty Mega" some time ago that was meant to do exactly this - replace the innards of an HD20 with a TashTwenty - though I haven't heard anything about it in a while. |
