I used to dream of a IIc Plus

Posted by: yuckydog on 2026-10-01 18:14:27 My first computer was a IIc that my parents bought me in middle school. I used it all the way through high school and the first year of college but I remember seeing ads at our local computer stores about the IIc Plus and thinking how awesome that computer was but there was no way I could convince my parents to upgrade. (Especially considering how big of an expense it was for them to get me a IIc in the first place.) Fast forward 35 years and I now have one. I think the prior owner got it but never got a chance to use it as they had no software for it at all and they even had a certificate for computer lessons still in the mailing envelope! Time to restore it and find some software. Especially games like Choplifter, Wasteland, Wings of Fury, Carmen Sandiego, Lode Runner…

Posted by: bibilit on 2026-10-01 23:40:57 Yes, that's the point, the IIc Plus was more powerful and had a 3.5 disk drive instead of the 5.25 (and no more power brick) but all the software was provided for 5.25 disks in the first place and the Apple II line was no longer a major concern. Probably came too late...
