| Replacement DVD-RW |
Posted by: Tiktok4321 on 2026-09-29 04:53:42 I have a 700Mhz Summer 2001 iMac SE (Graphite, if you're interested). It came with a CD-RW, but it failed. I was able to install a CD ROM drive from another G3 iMac. But what I'd REALLY like to do is install a DVD-RW drive. What form factor do I need to purchase for compatibility? Are the drivers already built into System 9/10? If not, are they available? |
Posted by: Forrest on 2026-09-29 07:29:47 I can recommend an external Firewire drive that works with a Mac:
Sony Spressa CRX1600L-A2 External FireWire i.LINK CD-RW Drive 12x8x32xThese are still available on ebay at a competitive price
Note this is an external full-height drive that won't fit in your iMac |
