Portable chimes but then turns off?
Posted by: Froggy814 on 2026-09-21 18:26:05
I went to power up my Portable after unplugging it and letting the battery discharge, but when the battery got back to full charge it and I powered it up, it just chimes. Stays on for a few seconds and then turns off, before it gets to just the mouse cursor even. I don't know why it would be doing this, but if you have any ideas to help I would appreciate it! I will continue to try with different things unplugged. I hope it's not that bad! And by battery I mean battery eliminator by Androda. Thanks!

Nevermind. It fixed itself. Weird behavior though...

00000014 / 0000CD36 is a Power Manager communication error. CD36 specifically indicates that during a send to the PMGR, the Mac didn’t see the start of the expected handshake. I’d check the PMGR’s power/reset/clock and the PMREQ*/PMACK* paths between the VIA and M50753 (PMGR), especially for leakage-damaged traces/vias, before assuming the PMGR itself is bad.

I’m assuming recap already performed?
