Clean but dead PB180c

I have a 180C that’s in pretty good shape. The LCD look’s very good and there are no leaky capacitors (yet).
I just recapped the Power adapter, it had some leaky caps - but it delivers 7.5-7.7v.

So far I’ve checked a couple things:

I get 5.2v on the transformer.
The fuse near the battery terminals are good. But when I try to measure voltage on the CPU I get 0 - 0.8v. Other components around get 5.2v. Could there be a faulty capacitor that is causing this issue?

I would try a different power adaptor first. 7.5V with the needed plug is easy and cheap to aquire.

A PowerBook 180c needs the Apple power adapter with a 7.5 V DC 3 A output (plug centre positive). The similar Apple power adapter with 2 A output is not adequate for this colour model (even though the computer may show limited signs of activity anyway). If necessary, you could also try a universal power adapter with 7.5 V DC output capable of delivering 3 A via an appropriate barrel plug.

I’ll try and source one.

Yes, i know it needs 3A . I have the original PSU for the 180C. It’s been recapped but still no good. I will try to source a modern replacement

I have a similar PSU, M5651Z, it's the 2A Version. Also fully recapped and not working. After connecting its delivering power at the plug but it's constantly going down from 7.6 V. If I find a solution I will report it.
