| IIcx crashes with strange noises |
Posted by: luRaichu on 2026-08-25 18:50:30 Hi, I’ve been using my IIcx and have had some instabilities as of late. The machine crashes and makes strange sounds. I looked and the Delta SMP-120EB power supply is putting out 6 & 15 volts, which is high. It hasn’t been touched so I’d think a recap is in order. |

or at least i've never seen a working one... |

or at least i've never seen a working one... The later Centris 650 power supplies are better.
Also, that is pure nightmare fuel. Most scary thing I have ever heard a computer produce. If I heard that when I was much younger, I would have never wanted to use a computer again. You have the perfect plot for a horror movie, book, or creepypasta.
Is there any corrosion and do you have any other machines like C650 or 7100 to use the PSU from. |
Posted by: stepleton on 2026-09-23 14:43:46 I really liked it myself; people put in a lot of work to make that kind of crunchy sound. Definitely a primo glitch, up there in style with the opener for Technology Connections's second CED video.
Anyhow, agreeing with the power assessment; I've encountered very similar glitch effects from a backlit Portable with a tired battery. |
