Anyone remember MEGAFILER ?

This was a database application I used on a Mac Plus running "system" 5 I believe. A long time ago.

I still have some old files recovered from some floppies, and I'm wondering if anyone knows of a way to convert them into something modern? None of it is important stuff, just some random databases I made. I think one of them is a list of MST3K episodes I watched or something 😀

I make a post about this every few years. One of these days, I'm hoping someone has heard of it and knows some way to convert.
Also these files are probably very small, so I suppose if I could get MEGAFILER running in an emulator, I could just print them and recreate them in an hour and that would more or less count as conversion in my book.

After posting this, I downloaded and started messing with Mini vMac. I was able to get it to boot but not much more beyond that. I'll have to look in to it more when I have some time. Even if I am able to get the program installed and open my files, I'm not sure how I'm going to be able to print them to a pdf in system 6. Although I suppose I won't have to, if I can open the file I can just put the mini vmac window next to a libreoffice dbase window and just start recreating.

So, is there some way to ZOOM in on the minivmac window? Modern dot pitch is soooo much smaller than in the mid 80s, and these eyes don't work like they did back then.

Update: someone posted a new "cracked" version on macintosh garden, that runs without getting stuck in an infinite loop of asking for you to insert a disk.

I put it on my 7.5.5 volume and it worked! Its way more terrible than I remember, but it works! My three old MF files were tiny and have very little data in them, but what little they have, I got! Now I have my high school locker combo and number again! lol.

magnification option is built in, iirc you press Control, then M.

I needed more zoom than that, even if it was pixelated zoom.
BUT also, I managed to get megafiler to run in system 7, so I don't need this system 6 virtual mac after all. I got all of my information the hard way, taking a screen shot of each page of the database. But these are very small databases I made in 1993 so recreating them as spreadsheets is pretty easy.
