Recreation Of The Track Ball Cover For The Original "Made in Taiwan" ADB Mouse
Posted by: jasonfortheworld on 2026-08-21 08:03:10
I had a bunch of the "Made in Taiwan" ADB mice that were all missing the cover for the track ball, so I remade it to print for myself. The photos of my print were done using the Retro Platinum PLA from Polar Filament.

I printed them using Orca Slicer on my Creality K2 Plus with a .4mm nozzle. I used the 0.08mm HueForge profile with tree supports.

You can find the model here:

Thanks for designing/posting - often these were glued down in public spaces/schools. Because, kids.

How would you ever clean the crud from the rollers?

This was my pet peeve in secondary school - I hated the cursor jamming as I tried to move it around on the PCs, because nobody ever cleaned them. They weren’t glued down though.

I’ve used IPA and a qtip to clean the rollers

I meant how would you clean them if the covers were glued on!

Unscrewing the base! The balls were used for various nefarious means as projectiles usually coming into contact with another kid (notably their head)
